Q. Tell me the correct position to attach the device.

A. There are three checkpoints:

  1. Ensure the end of the longer part of the vibration belt is at the center of the heel.
  2. Ensure the end of the shorter part of the vibration belt is positioned on top of the foot, just under the upper layer of the shoe, or just under the shoe’s tongue.
  3. Ensure the vibration belt is not lying flat on the sole to prevent stepping on it.

Q. Do I need to turn off the ASHIRASE2 device every time?

A. No, the ASHIRASE2 device automatically enters a sleep state called “Eco Mode” 10 minutes after navigation ends, so turning off the power is not necessary. However, if you want to extend battery life further, turning off the device each time can help reduce power consumption.

Q. How long can the battery last continuously?

A. Under normal conditions, it can operate continuously for about 10 hours. However, in extremely cold temperatures, the battery may drain more quickly.

Q. How long does it take to charge?

A. A full charge takes about 2 hours.

Q. Can I use the device in the rain, snow, or areas with significant temperature differences?

A. Yes, you can use it in rainy conditions. However, do not submerge the device in water or wash it under running water. If the device gets wet from rain, wipe off the water with a soft cloth and dry it in a well-ventilated place. While it can be used in cold environments, please store it indoors.

Q. Can I turn off the device’s LED?

A. Yes. Tap the battery status button displayed at the top of the menu screen in the app, then set “LED Brightness” to “Off” in the device settings.

Q. How can I change the vibration intensity?

A. While the device is connected, tap the button at the top of the app’s menu screen that shows the battery level. From there, you can adjust the vibration intensity in three levels under “Vibration Strength.”

Q. Can I bring ASHIRASE2 on an airplane?

A. Yes. ASHIRASE2 uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2 Wh or less, so it can be carried on board. Please make sure the device is powered off when carrying it on board.

Q. Can I register one ASHIRASE2 device with multiple iPhones?

A. Yes. ASHIRASE2 can be used with multiple iPhones. However, please note that it cannot be connected to more than one iPhone at the same time.

Q. Does the navigation route include trains or buses?

A. ASHIRASE provides walking routes only and does not include public transportation routes. If you need to use trains or other transport, you can use ASHIRASE to navigate from your home to the nearest station and then again from the destination station to your final destination.

Q. Does ASHIRASE guide me to the entrance of a building?

A. Not necessarily. ASHIRASE guides you to the vicinity of your destination, but it may not bring you directly in front of the entrance. After arriving near the destination, you may ask someone nearby for assistance. If there is a specific entrance or location you want to reach, we recommend saving that location as a Favorite.

Q. Can ASHIRASE be used indoors for navigation?

A. No, navigation is currently only available outdoors.

Q. I tried using ASHIRASE for a familiar route, but it didn’t guide me along my preferred path.

A. ASHIRASE may set routes that are different from the ones you are used to walking. If you want to use a familiar route, try using the “My Route” feature, which records the paths you walk.

App Usage

Q. Do I need to keep my smartphone screen open while using ASHIRASE?

A. No, you can lock the screen. Since navigation is conveyed through vibrations, you can keep your phone in your pocket or bag while walking.

Troubleshooting

Q. I didn’t receive the verification email when registering the app.

A. The email may have been filtered into your spam or junk folder. Please check your spam folder first. If domain filtering is enabled, make sure that emails from “noreply@ashirase.com” can be received. If you still do not receive the email, please contact us.

Q. The device is paired with the app, but the message “Not connected to the device” is displayed.

A. If the app does not connect to the device even after opening it, please try the methods below:

  1. Restart the ASHIRASE2 device: Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn it off, then press and hold it again for about 3 seconds to turn it back on.
  2. Restart the ASHIRASE app: Close it using the app switcher, then reopen the app.
  3. Turn Bluetooth off and on from the iPhone Settings app.
