This feature allows you to correct location inaccuracies by holding your smartphone in front of your chest and capturing your surroundings with the camera at the start of navigation or while navigating.
When this feature is enabled, a message will appear at the start of navigation asking whether you want to perform camera-based correction. Navigation will begin automatically once the correction is complete.

This feature is especially useful in places such as:

  • Areas with many high-rise buildings
  • Under elevated roads or in tunnels
  • Similar environments where GPS accuracy may be reduced

Setup (Before Using the Feature):

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Camera-Based Location Correction
  3. Turn on Camera-Based Location Correction

How to Use:

  1. Open the ASHIRASE app and set your destination
  2. Tap Start Navigation
  3. When prompted, select Scan with Camera and Start Navigation
  4. Hold your smartphone in front of your chest and slowly move the camera left and right to scan your surroundings
  5. Navigation will start automatically once the correction is complete

After navigation starts, the camera will be turned off.
If you want to use this feature while walking (for example, when GPS accuracy seems low), tap the camera button read as “Camera-Based Location Correction” on the app screen, then hold your smartphone in front of your chest as you walk. To stop the camera, tap the same button again.

Q&A:
Q. How should I move the camera during scanning?
A. Hold your smartphone at chest height and slowly move it left and right for a few seconds. If using it during navigation, walk while holding the phone at chest height. You may also wear it around your neck instead of holding it in your hand.

Q. Can I walk while the app says “Scanning with camera”?
A. If you are scanning before starting navigation, the route may be recalculated, so please wait until scanning is complete before you start walking. If you are already navigating, you can walk while scanning.

Q. Does this feature detect and avoid obstacles?
A. No. This feature does not detect obstacles, provide alerts, or reroute you to avoid them.

Q. When should I use this feature during navigation?
A. It is especially recommended in situations where location accuracy may decrease, such as:

  • Right after exiting a subway station
  • Near high-rise buildings
  • Under elevated roads or in covered arcades

You can also use it anytime you feel unsure about your current location.

Q. How much battery and data does this feature use?
A. Compared to normal navigation, battery consumption is approximately 4 times higher, and data usage is about 50 MB per hour. (Actual usage may vary depending on the device and environment.)

Q. Can I use this feature with Screen Curtain enabled?
A. Yes, this feature can be used even when Screen Curtain is enabled.

14. Input Method for AI Recommended Search

You can change how you enter requests for AI Recommended Search. By default, only Voice Input is enabled. To use both Voice or Text, or Text Input only, update the settings.

Steps:

  1. Tap Input Method Settings in the Settings screen.
  2. Select your preferred input method.
