Watch Over

ASHIRASE’s Watch Over feature allows sighted users to monitor children or family members who are using navigation by setting them as “Watch Over users.”
With this feature, you can receive notifications when navigation starts or ends, as well as check their current location and walking history.

2. How to Use

Step 1: Add a Watch Over User

If the person who will become a Watch Over user does not have an ASHIRASE account, they need to install the ASHIRASE app and create an account via “Sign Up.”

  1. Open the ASHIRASE app (on the primary user’s device)
  2. Tap the menu button in the top right
  3. Open Settings
  4. Tap Watch Over User Settings
  5. Tap “Add New”, then enter the email address of the person you want to add
  6. Tap “Add”, and tap “Add” again when the confirmation message appears

Step 2: Configure What to Share

  1. Open the ASHIRASE app (on the primary user’s device)
  2. Tap the menu button in the top right
  3. Open Settings
  4. Tap Share Content Settings
  5. Turn on the items you want to share with the Watch Over user

You can share the following three items:

  • Notifications for navigation start and end
  • Current location during navigation
  • Past navigation history

Step 3: Watch Over User Login Setup

  1. The added Watch Over user should check their email
  2. Tap the URL to access the Watch Over screen
  3. Enter the email address and password registered with the ASHIRASE account to log in

Step 4: Use the Watch Over Feature

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left of the Watch Over screen
  2. Tap Watch Over
  3. Select the user you want to monitor
  4. Choose the navigation session you want to check and view the history

Note: Notifications for navigation start and end are sent via email.
